We arrived in Seim Reap and I had no idea what Cambodia had to offer. I’ve heard that Cambodia was a war ridden country and you had to be very careful to stay on well marked paths do to land mines. First off our tour guide started out tour at Angkor Wat and it took me a second to get my mind around these structures that had once been temples thousands of years ago. I’ve seen pictures online, documentary’s, and books. Nothing prepared me for the sights I seen. I was totally shock and amazed that these buildings were built thousands of years ago with hardly any tools, plus they are still standing today somewhat. Well here is some of what we saw there.
If I remember correctly these statues that line the road on the left are the good guys.
The statues on the right side of the road were the evil demons that lead to the temple.
The statues lead to the entrance of Angkor Wat, as you can see some of the statues are getting new heads since the old heads are gone do to weather and vandalism.
Looking down the road toward the entrance of Angkor Wat.
After we go through the gate and look back it’s interesting to think in the early 12 century they can make both sides look so much alike.
